- Sheikh Abdulsattar Ali Al-Kattan is a General Manager of Shura Sharia holds a bachelor’s degree in Sharia from Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in Saudi Arabia, and a Higher Diploma in Comparative Jurisprudence and the Origins of Jurisprudence from the Faculty of Graduate Studies at Kuwait University.
- He has extensive practical experience in Sharia Supervisory Boards for nearly 30 years, of which he spent 7 years during his work in the Sharia Department at Kuwait Finance House, after which he moved to work as Director of Sharia Supervision department at Aayan Leasing and Investment Company for another 7 years, including founding Shura Shari’a Consulting Company in 2007 through which he led and continues to lead a variety of works in Sharia consulting, Sharia auditing and international conferences specialized in Islamic Jurisprudence and Sharia auditing.
- He has been a member of several institutions supporting the Islamic financial industry such as Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) which accredited him as a member of the Shari’a Standards Committee (since 2002), a CSAA Certified Controller and Auditor Trainer (since 2009).
- A former expert at International Islamic Fiqh Academy (Jeddah).
- A member of the Shari’a Supervisory Board of Al Baraka Bank Syria (2010), then became the Chairman of the Shari’a Board (2020-2023).
- A member of the Fatwa and Shari’a Supervisory Board for a number of Islamic financial institutions inside and outside Kuwait.
- He has many research papers presented at numerous international conferences in sukuk, debts, Ijarah, bank cards, Sharia governance and other topics.
